I am thrilled to share my recent travel experience with you which focus on the Agra Mathura Vrindavan tour from Delhi. This post is packed with exciting details that will surely help you plan your own Agra Mathura Vrindavan tour package effectively. So, let us dive right in without any delay.

How I Experienced Agra

I have travelled to various places, exploring hills, beaches, monuments, and deserts. Surprisingly, a visit to the Taj Mahal had always avoided me. Well, things were about to change. During the summer vacation, my relatives from Kolkata visited us in Delhi. They had two main items on their checklist: a Delhi Darshan Tour and a trip to Agra, Mathura, and Vrindavan. We planned to go for these tours on one of the weekdays and booked one of the best Agra Mathura Vrindavan tour packages.

● The Journey to Agra

In just 30 minutes, we approached the Yamuna Expressway, the highway linking Delhi to Agra. Our onboard guide provided us with a briefing about the journey and what to anticipate throughout our trip. The ride from Delhi to Agra took approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes one way. To keep us engaged, the guide ensured there was never a dull moment during the tour. As we admired the picturesque views outside, pleasant music played in the background.

● Breakfast Time!

Since the pick-up was early, none of us had breakfast, and our stomachs were growling with hunger. At 7 a.m., we made a stop at a lovely restaurant along the highway. The onboard guide led us to the restaurant, which had a well-maintained and pleasant ambience. As we entered, a delightful mix of aromas greeted our senses. The menu featured a variety of dishes such as dosa, idli, sambar, noodles, burgers, chips, and beverages. We opted for dosa and a cup of coffee, and it turned out to be absolutely delicious!

● The Grand Entrance

We arrived in Agra right on schedule, thanks to smooth traffic conditions and our professional bus driver. Our guide informed us, “I have your entry tickets and socks for the Taj Mahal.” We collected our entry tickets, and soon a local guide joined us. Passing through the security gates, we walked around 100 yards and caught sight of the grand gates leading to the Taj Mahal.

Please note that entry tickets for the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort can be arranged on the spot at the entrance to the Taj Mahal. You can make the payment on the bus for your convenience.

● Visit to the Monument of Love

Finally, the moment we had been eagerly anticipating was just a few steps away. As we walked through the entrance gates, we could not believe our eyes. We were not alone; our fellow passengers were equally mesmerized. It is no wonder the Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world! This remarkable marble structure is the most beautiful monument ever created by mankind.

This impressive mausoleum was built by the Mughal emperor Shahjahan in loving memory of his wife, Mumtaz Begum, our guide shared. He added, "Did you know the original name of Shahjahan was 'Khurram,' a Persian name that means happiness?" After two hours of morning sightseeing, it was time to say goodbye to Agra and move on to our next destination.

Mathura and Vrindavan: The Twin Sacred Lands in India

It took us about one and a half hours to travel from Agra to Mathura. Mathura, being the birthplace of Lord Krishna, had boosted our interest. Upon arrival, we visited the Lord Krishna Janma-bhumi temple. After a thorough security check, we were permitted to enter the temple premises. Photography was not allowed inside. The temple has preserved the jail where Lord Krishna was born approximately 5000 years ago, which was truly awe-inspiring! There was also a museum to explore, with a nominal entry fee of Rs 5. Afterwards, we headed to Vrindavan for our next stop.

In just 15 minutes, we arrived in Vrindavan, the very place where Lord Krishna spent his childhood. We opted for an e-rickshaw ride to visit one of the most popular temples, Prem Mandir. There, we witnessed a captivating Light and Sound Show, which was truly worth the visit.

● Shopping in Mathura and Vrindavan

After about 30 minutes of enjoyable window shopping, our stomachs started growling. Thankfully, our tour itinerary was planned to perfection, and next on the agenda was a delicious lunch.

● A Delicious Lunch

Our hunger had reached its peak, so we made a stop at a nearby lunch point, not far from Prem Mandir. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and offered both à la carte and buffet options. Opting for the buffet, we found it reasonably priced, and the food turned out to be awesome. After a satisfying 45-minute lunch break, it was time to bid farewell to Mathura and Vrindavan and head back to Delhi.

Conclusion

Overall, I must say what the Agra Mathura Vrindavan tour provided us was incredible. The best part? We were back in Delhi by 10:30 p.m. The tour management was excellent. Our guide proved to be excellent. He possessed a wealth of knowledge while being courteous and entertaining. I hope you enjoyed my account of the Agra Tour.

I suggest planning your trip to Agra Mathura Vrindavan on weekdays, as weekends tend to be more crowded. Also, keep in mind that the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.
